The Blackwell Gate - Coming this April!
Today, we'd like to announce that we're finally ready to release our debut album entitled The Blackwell Gate. It's been a long time coming. Over a year, in fact. About this time in 2007, I locked myself in my basement for a week, only leaving the cave to go to the bathroom, and occasionally eat.
A majority of the album was tracked at this time. Thirteen songs were, over the course of the year, whittled down to five. Summer and fall were spent mixing the album to perfection. Winter was album artwork, packaging deliberation, and mastering. It's now Spring, and the records are in production. We can't wait to get them to you.
We decided that CDs are wasteful, and digital distribution is far more efficient anyway. However, we also recognized that people like holding a physical object. As such, we're offering the album in two forms. You will be able to purchase the album in mp3 or lossless formats, or if you desire something tangible, you can purchase a vinyl record. Limited pressing. To grease the wheels a bit, we've decided to include four additional songs that were not selected for the album proper on the b-side of the record. (Those who purchase the record, will also get download codes so that they can add them to their digital collections and portable music players.)
We plan to release the album in April. An exact date and release party are in the works, so stay tuned. For now, here's a preview of the artwork and the tracklist. Expect snippets of the album popping up here and there in the near future.
