About the Annual CD
Each year we hold numerous events and do various other things to raise funds and awareness in our community. While we have many traditional fundraisers (a walk, dinners, etc.), we also have more non-traditional fundraisers. Our CD is one of them.
Each year, we get Hinkley faculty members and students to perform and record songs so we can compile them and sell them on a limited CD pressings. All proceeds from the sale of the CDs go to our cause.
Volume I
Our first CD was Christmas-themed and released around the holiday season of the 2005/2006 school year. Much of the CD was comedic, for example with the library staff, along with Mark Fisher, performing an a cappella rendition of the Chipmunk Christmas Song, as well as the memorable parody of Sleigh Ride performed by Mrs. Heck and Mrs. Weissenbuehler. Some copies are still available and can be purchased alone for $5.00, or together with the latest CD for $8.00.
Volume II
During the 2006/2007 school year, a second CD was produced, this time with the more appropriate theme of "Social Justice." The tone of the CD shifted drastically from the last year's comedy toward something more serious. It's stylistically much more varied, as well.
Prominently featured on the CD is a cover of John Lennon's Imagine, performed by the entire Hinkley Faculty (recorded during a faculty meeting). Copies are available for $5.00 and will be available around December 11th.
